Pinspiration: Winter Wedding

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7

The wedding yesterday was lovely. The bride looked beautiful and it was cool to see someone I've known since childhood get married. It was kind of awkward because I didn't really know anyone at the luncheon reception and ended up standing lamely by myself at the side of the room but the ceremony was very sweet and the pastor who married the couple is a professor at my university! The wedding was held in a church, and there were a lot of fun winter details, like Christmas trees with twinkle lights, glass and pinecone centerpieces and baby's breath bouquets and boutonnieres. I was inspired to look up some photos on Pinterest, just so I could remember the wintery feel of the wedding. It was obviously a December wedding, but it wasn't too Christmas-y. It had some really beautiful accents and I think the couple made a really good use of the space that the church had provided.

Congratulations to the happy newlyweds! And thanks for the inspiration!

  1. I love winter weddings! Especially when they don't go too overboard with the Christmas-y things, like you described :) It sounds really beautiful, and I'm glad you got to celebrate with your friends. I'm sure they appreciated you being there, especially since you didn't know anyone ;) Thanks for linking up this week! xoxo

  2. I love how fairy lights can be perfect ion any situation. We're getting married in August, so I think (hope!) they'll look like fireflies, but they're magical in December too :)
